“......It is Maria’s journey through the landscape around us, the everyday and mundane. Her experimental photographic and filmic work is mediated with technological breakdown whilst harnessing the power of the uncanny..... “
Idio exhibition 2008
Maria’s continually evolving photographic and creative practice involves digital / retro analogue photography and filmmaking. She brings a contemporary twist through her fascination with experimental lens based technology and utilises this medium to focus in on the everyday, including people and animals.
Maria graduated with an MA degree in Media Arts, specializing in painting, digital / retro analogue photography and film work, in 2008. Her MA followed initial training in London where she graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Interior Design from Chelsea College of Art and Design (University of the Arts London).
